The Benefits of Third-party Safety Accreditation to Charter Aircraft Brokers
In a cover feature for the October 2016 issue of Charter Broker magazine, highlighting the benefits of third-party safety accreditation to charter aircraft brokers, ACANA Chairman Richard Zaher noted the value proposition for brokers utilizing auditing services like ARGUS, ACSF, Wyvern, and IS-BAO has “increased significantly” in recent years, particularly as clients have become more conscious of operator safety concerns and, understandably, demand the highest levels of safety for their chartered flight.
“Without question, an experienced charter broker offers a significant advantage to clients, particularly as a valuable second line of defense when it comes to ascertaining an operator’s safety record,” Zaher added. “When safety is a priority for brokers, it places additional emphasis on operators to focus on it too. That includes use of third party auditing services to determine how they measure up against their competitors in this regard.”
The article further noted that broker consideration of an operator’s audit rating complements the practices outlined in ACANA’s Contract Best Practices guide, introduced in 2015 to help its Members have a more complete understanding of the primary elements of an air charter broker contract.
